Moorwood
is a charming thatched cob and stone cottage, built in
1640 on the slopes of the beautiful Wray Valley. It lies on the edge of
it’s own 10 acre garden with ancient woodland and within the Dartmoor
National Park. The woodland has an abundance of wildlife, including foxes,
deer and many indigenous birds, plus we also have
badgers that regularly
feed around the confines of the cottage. In spring the woods are a riot of
colour, first with daffodils and then
bluebells, stretching far up the
valley side. The picturesque village of Lustleigh with it’s many walks and local pub is
within a short drive as is the outstanding natural beauty of Dartmoor
itself. This area is ideal for walking with many spectacular views, and
with such sites as Widecombe-in-the-Moor,
Castle Drogo and
Buckfast Abbey
only a brief drive away, and with the South Devon Coast lying just 15
miles distant, it makes the ideal centre for touring.
